The African Heritage Foundation (AHF) is requesting assistance in burying the son of our Executive Secretary who passed away in a car crash on the 26th of June 2015.
Felisha Holder, mother of 11 year old Abijah and his sister Ibrielle, were on their way home from attending his graduation when the accident happened. Abijah had just sat the Common Entrance Exam and passed for Queens College, which is one of the top schools on the island. We were extremely proud of him and he was excited to be going to school there.
Abijah died on the scene shortly after the crash and Ibrielle suffered a broken leg. Felisha escaped with minor cuts and bruises. At present, Ibrielle is in hospital awaiting surgery on the leg that is broken in two places.
In her role as Executive Secretary of the AHF, Felisha has been one of the backbones of the organisation since its inception in February 2015. She and her husband Wendell have given much to the AHF and now it is our turn to stand at their side in this their time of need.
As you know, funerals are very expensive and we would like to ensure that the family does not have to bear the full financial weight in addition to having to deal with this level of tragedy. The AHF will be assisting with Abijah’s funeral expenses and with your assistance we are seeking to raise $12,000 for this family.
The AHF is taking this opportunity to start a Benevolent Fund to assist other members of the organisation who are faced with emergency situations that require community assistance. Situations such as the death of family members, fire or storm damage, homelessness and other serious matters will be managed through this Benevolent Fund.
As stated before, the first $12,000 will go towards the funeral expenses of young Abijah and should we receive more than that figure, that money will be put in the Benevolent Fund account.
On behalf of the African Heritage Foundation, I thank you in advance for your contribution to this Fund. We would like to send each person that donates to the Fund a token of our appreciation. To facilitate this, please send us an email to email@example.com with your name, contact info and amount donated. This information will be kept confidential.
